David Jack Levene is a British author of fiction and non-fiction. His debut book, THE LORD OF LANGUAGE: A LIFE STORY OF J.R.R. TOLKIEN tells the tale of the father of fantasy and explains what, exactly, made him such a genius. Levene has also written a historical novel, THE BUCCANEERS’ KING, about a succession crisis in the pirate city of Port Royal during piracy's Golden Age. He is the creator of the YouTube channel TOLKIEN UNTANGLED, in which he shares his passion for the stories of Middle-earth with 160,000 subscribers and millions of viewers. He has an undergraduate degree in history from the University of London and a master’s degree in creative writing from London South Bank University. He currently lives in Liverpool, UK.
