Miles Howard
Miles Howard is a writer, journalist, and community organizer exploring the power of being outside and how to break down barriers to the outdoors. He is the founder of the Walking City Trails of Boston, a network of cross-city urban trails spanning over 100 miles, and he holds a degree in English and Cinematic Arts from the University of Southern California. His work has been published by Mountain Gazette, National Geographic, The Boston Globe, Yankee Magazine, and The New Republic. He is based in Boston's Jamaica Plain neighborhood, where he can often be found in the urban wilds of Franklin Park or Arnold Arboretum enjoying the magic hour. His guidebooks on New England hiking and road tripping have been published by Moon Travel, and he also publishes a weekly newsletter called Mind The Moss, which explores the intersections between outdoor recreation, culture, and politics.
