Rebecca N. Thompson, MD, is a family medicine and public health physician who specializes in women’s and children’s health. Her forthcoming book, HELD TOGETHER: A SHARED MEMOIR OF MOTHERHOOD, MEDICINE, AND IMPERFECT LOVE (HarperOne, February 2025) weaves her story of learning to become a doctor while facing life-threatening pregnancy complications into the narratives of her patients, colleagues, and friends as they endure challenges in building and sustaining their own families too.
