Paul Miller, Associate Professor of History at McDaniel College, earned his Ph.D. in modern European history from Yale University in1995. His book From Revolutionaries to Citizens, based on his dissertation about the antimilitarist left in France in the period leading up to the World War I, was published by Duke University Press in 2002. After completing his doctorate, Miller served as editor of the journal Holocaust and Genocide Studies and collaborated on the documentary film They Looked Away, about the controversy over the (non) bombing of Auschwitz. From 2004–2006, he was a Fulbright scholar in Sarajevo, where he lectured and wrote about genocide and memory in Bosnia, and began research on his current book project about the assassination of Arch Duke Franz Ferdinand, tentatively entitled June 28, 1914: A Day in History and Memory.
